The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the official match officials for the upcoming ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025, which will take place in Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from February 19 to March 9.

A team of 12 umpires will oversee the action during the 8-team tournament, which will be held across four venues: Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi in Pakistan, and Dubai in the UAE.

Among the umpires is Richard Kettleborough, a veteran of 108 Men’s ODIs, who previously stood in the final of the last edition of the Champions Trophy in 2017.

Chris Gaffaney, Kumar Dharmasena, Richard Illingworth, Paul Reiffel, and Rod Tucker, all of whom were part of the 2017 Champions Trophy, will also be officiating in the 2025 edition of the tournament. They are joined by Michael Gough, Adrian Holdstock, Ahsan Raza, Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid, Alex Wharf, and Joel Wilson, all of whom officiated in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 in India.

The panel of referees includes David Boon, Ranjan Madugalle, and Andrew Pycroft, who will each serve as match referees throughout the tournament. Boon officiated in the 2017 final, while Pycroft also took part in the event. Madugalle, who has a long history of officiating in major ICC tournaments, returns after serving as a referee for the 2013 final.

Sean Easey, the ICC Senior Manager for Umpires and Referees, expressed his excitement about the panel. “We are pleased to announce our panel of match officials for the upcoming Men’s Champions Trophy. This is a highly experienced and credentialed team, and their expertise will be crucial in maintaining the high standards of officiating in this high-profile tournament,” Easey said.

He added, “We always aim to select the most suitable and deserving officials for any ICC event, and we are confident this group will perform excellently during the matches in Pakistan and the UAE. I wish them all the best and hope they have a memorable tournament.”
