Archie Vaughan, the son of former England captain Michael Vaughan, has earned his first call-up to the England Under-19 squad. The 18-year-old batter is part of a 14-man squad set to play two Tests against Sri Lanka, beginning next week at Wormsley.
Vaughan joins Rocky Flintoff, the 16-year-old son of former England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff, who is already part of the squad for the ongoing one-day series, which is currently tied at 1-1.
Last month, Vaughan and Flintoff were on opposing teams in a Young Lions Invitational XI and England Under-19s match. Vaughan impressed with 85 runs from 83 deliveries, contributing to the Invitational XI's total of 288 all out.
Flintoff then led the England side to a two-wicket victory with a century, scoring 106 runs in the 50-over match.
Vaughan recently signed a two-year contract with Somerset in May, while Flintoff secured professional terms with Lancashire in June.
Flintoff has also been playing alongside his 18-year-old brother, Corey, at Old Trafford and made a century for Lancashire's 2nd XI against Warwickshire at Edgbaston in April.
