Pakistan team director, Mickey Arthur, strongly believes that Pakistan is all about putting the team first, so it's better to first think about how Rizwan can be utilized the best and then give him a clear role.

During the home series against New Zealand, Mohammad Rizwan stated that he is not happy batting at the number five position for Pakistan and would prefer the number four spot. However, he reinstated that he is ready to sacrifice his ideal batting slot for the team's sake.

Pakistan's team director Mickey Arthur also has something similar to say about Rizwan's batting position in the ODI format. He emphasized that the team's benefit will always be kept first, and then management will consider individual preferences.

"Depending on the balance of the team, depending on where we take the side in terms of their roles. We just need to explore a little bit more in terms of finding the exact and best position for the team first and Mohammad Rizwan second because Pakistan is all about putting the team first, so it's way best we think how we can utilize him and then give him a clear role, as to what we want from the position and then letting him go and play," Arthur said while speaking to a foreign sports journalist.

“He's a wonderful player; he's matured. He's a player who has matured incredibly since I left, and he's world-class now. We just have to find out how best Mohammad Rizwan's position fits the team," he added.

Rizwan's record at number four is outstanding, with the wicketkeeper-batsman accumulating 742 runs in 20 innings at an average of 43.64. Batting at the same place, the 30-year-old has two centuries and five fifties. However, when Rizwan batted at number five in both New Zealand series matches, he delivered unbeaten knocks to lead the side to triumph.
