Misbah-ul-Haq has revealed that he has not yet been contacted by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) about returning as coach or chief selector of the Pakistan team.
The former captain, in a press conference, was asked if he would be willing to take up aforementioned roles again with the national side.
"I have not been contacted by PCB as of yet. When they will contact me, then I will see. I already have a lot of prior commitments, whether it is with leagues or with television channels. It won’t be easy to immediately take up a role with the Pakistan team. I will have to see what role will be offered and whether I would be able to do it or not," Misbah said.
Last week, former Pakistan cricketer, Abdul Razzaq said that Misbah has a good chance of returning to the Pakistan team as a coach.
"Now, with the recent change in PCB's chief, I understand that they are unable to make any decisions right now. However, I feel that Misbah-ul-Haq has a good chance of taking charge of the Pakistan team again," Razzaq said.
It is worth noting that former Pakistan captain, Misbah-ul-Haq, assumed the dual role in September 2019, where he took on the responsibilities of team selection and coaching.
Following Pakistan's inability to secure a semi-final spot in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2019, under the guidance of Mickey Arthur, Misbah was appointed as the coach for a three-year term a few months later.
However, after Ramiz Raja became chairman of PCB in September 2021, Misbah decided to step down as head coach of the Men in Green.
