Pakistan head coach Misbahul Haq revealed the reason behind inviting the National High Performance coaches, Mohammad Yousuf and Saqlain Mushtaq, into the Pakistan training camp in Karachi ahead of the two-match Test series against South Africa.

While speaking in an online interaction with reporters on Sunday, Misbah dispelled the impression that the presence of Yousaf and Saqlain will lead to confusion in the camp with too many coaches around.

"The thought behind Saqlain's inclusion was that spinners will play a big role in matches here, so we wanted him to come and work with the new domestic spinners for a bit," said Misbah

"Yousuf has been roped in to improve our coordination. Younis Khan still leads the batsmen here, and we as coaches communicate with each other so that we know about each player's details - we're accumulating his data, a lot of videos, how he's playing," he added.

The National High Performance coaches will oversee preparations of the T20I squad until the team management assumes charge following the second Test, starts in Rawalpindi on February 4. The visit to Karachi is part of starting the preparations well in advance so that they can make best use of the time.

"People are probably under the impression that there'll be confusion for batsmen because three coaches will be giving inputs but it's nothing like that. Younis Khan will communicate with the players, and the three of us are only communicating among ourselves. That's very clear," Misbah said.

"The other motive behind bringing those guys is that they are going to prepare the team for T20s. Here we'll be busy with the Test. We're communicating among ourselves about how to prepare them for T20s," he concluded.

South Africa will play the first Test at the National Stadium in Karachi from January 26-30.

The iconic Gaddafi Stadium, headquarters of Pakistan cricket, will be the venue of the three T20Is, which are scheduled for February 11, 13 and 14.
