Former Pakistan head coach Misbah-ul-Haq has offered insights into the potential appointments of Jason Gillespie and Gary Kirsten as coaches for Pakistan cricket team, emphasizing their wealth of experience and potential to bring positive change to the team.

In an exclusive interview with Cricket Pakistan, Misbah highlighted the extensive cricketing backgrounds of Gillespie and Kirsten, noting their expertise across various formats and their tenure with top teams.

"I think they are both very experienced cricketers. They have been performers in all formats and have played for top teams. So, they have exposure to international cricket and know all aspects of the game. I'm not sure about Jason Gillespie's current involvement with any team in red-ball cricket, but he is definitely involved with Adelaide Strikers in T20 cricket. However, he was a very good bowler in Test cricket as well. Hopefully, these are good choices, and best wishes to them," Misbah said.

Regarding Kirsten, Misbah lauded his achievements both as a cricketer and as a coach, particularly during his successful stint with the Indian cricket team.

"Everyone knows about Gary Kirsten, he was a great cricketer, and he has achieved a lot both as a cricketer and as a coach, especially during his tenure with India. So, I think we should hope for the best, welcome them, support them, and give them the opportunity to bring about positive change in the right way," he further added.

It is worth noting that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is set to appoint South Africa's Gary Kirsten and Australia's Jason Gillespie as coaches for the men’s national side.
Kirsten will serve as the white-ball coach, while Gillespie will take on the role of the red-ball coach for the Men in Green.

An official announcement is expected from the cricket board once formalities are completed, as the PCB has already advertised the positions.
