This was Pakistani pacer’s 42nd five-wicket haul in First Class cricket and 10th five-wicket haul in County cricket
Mohammad Abbas, the talented Pakistani fast bowler, was in outstanding form as he took six wickets for Hampshire in a County Championship match against Nottinghamshire on Thursday.
The game is being played at the picturesque Ageas Bowl in Southampton.
Abbas took full advantage of the conditions and bowled with great accuracy and control. His ability to move the ball both ways off the pitch made him a difficult proposition for the Nottinghamshire batsmen.
Abbas picked up his first wicket in the 12th over of the innings, when he dismissed Ben Duckett for 23. He then followed it up by dismissing Haseeb Hameed, who was caught behind by wicket-keeper Ben Brown.
Ben Slater was the next to depart of the Pakistan pacer’s bowling, as he caught by James Vince after scoring 11.
Abbas continued to apply pressure on the Nottinghamshire batsmen and picked up his fourth wicket when he trapped Steven Mullaney lbw for 4.
