Peshawar Zalmi pacer Mohammad Ali had a night to forget as he recorded one of the worst bowling figures in PSL history during his team’s season opener against Quetta Gladiators at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

Making his debut for Zalmi, Ali bowled four overs and conceded 57 runs without taking a wicket. His expensive spell became the second-worst in Zalmi’s PSL history, only behind Azmatullah Omarzai, who gave away 62 runs but claimed two wickets in a match against Multan Sultans during PSL 8.

Worst bowling figures for Peshawar Zalmi in PSL:

  • Azmatullah Omarzai: 4-0-62-2
  • Mohammad Ali: 4-0-57-0
  • Amad Butt: 4-0-56-0
  • Sameen Gul: 4-0-56-0
  • Wahab Riaz: 4-0-56-1

Ali’s performance also ranks joint-11th on the all-time list of worst bowling figures in PSL history. That list is led by Afghanistan’s Qais Ahmad, who conceded 77 runs in four overs against Multan Sultans in PSL 2023.

Worst bowling figures in PSL history:

  • Qais Ahmad: 4-0-77-2
  • Usama Mir: 4-0-68-0
  • Shahid Afridi: 4-0-67-1
  • Anwar Ali: 4-0-66-1
  • Zafar Gohar: 4-0-65-1

Ali’s off day came as the Quetta Gladiators posted a massive total of 216/3. The target proved too much for Zalmi, who were bowled out for just 136, suffering an 80-run defeat to begin their PSL 10 campaign on a disappointing note.
