Fast bowler Mohammad Amir has made a significant mark in T20 cricket history by setting a new record for the most maiden overs delivered.

Playing for the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons in the Caribbean T20 League (CPL) 2024, Amir has surpassed Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s record of 24 maiden overs and now holds the third position globally with 25 maiden overs.

The record for the most maiden overs is currently held by Sunil Narine with 30, while Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan is in second place with 26 maiden overs.

At 32, Amir has been an exceptional performer in the domestic T20 format, amassing 347 wickets in 302 matches. In the ongoing CPL 2024, he has claimed five wickets in seven matches.

Notably, Amir played a crucial role for Pakistan in the 2017 Champions Trophy, where he dismissed top Indian batters including Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Shikhar Dhawan, helping Pakistan secure the title with a 180-run victory over India.
