Former Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir has announced that he plans to return to play in the upcoming HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2023.

Amir, who had recently been training for the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2023, expressed his excitement at the opportunity to potentially represent Pakistan again.

“If Allah wills, I will play for Pakistan again,” said Amir.

He also spoke about his experience training at the National High Performance Centre, where he performed well after a break. Amir revealed that he had been given permission to train by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee Chairman Najam Sethi and expressed his gratitude for the opportunity.

“Najam Sethi was kind enough to allow me to train at the NHPC,” Mohammad Amir.

In the coming days, Amir will continue training for a few more days before heading to Bangladesh. Despite the good facilities at the National High Performance Centre, Amir stated that training has always been more enjoyable.

In a conversation, Amir also highlighted the importance of Pakistan's recent arrangement of a test, crediting Sarfraz Ahmed, Imam, and particularly Saud Shakeel for their significant contributions.

“Imam-ul-Haq Sarfaraz Ahmed and Saud Shakeel batted well,” he said.

Reminder for all is that the first Test between Pakistan and New Zealand in Karachi ended in a draw.
