Former Pakistan cricketer, Mohammad Amir, has  suggesting a revamp in Pakistan's T20 International (T20I) opening pair.

Amir, while talking on a local news channel, recently expressed his preference for a change in the opening combination.

Amir, citing the significance of the initial overs in a T20 match, emphasized the need for impact players at the top of the order.

"I'll pick Fakhar and Saim as openers, I won't even keep Babar and Rizwan as openers. Because in T20, six overs of batting and six overs of bowling are extremely important," Amir said.

Highlighting the importance of a dynamic start, Amir expressed his belief that Saim and Fakhar possess the necessary qualities to provide the required impetus in the powerplay overs.

"You need impact in the powerplay from the beginning. Saim and Fakhar are impactful players," he further added.

A fan asks Imad just 7 months ago on PCB's YouTube channel you were praising Babar Azam's inns, what's changed in 7 months that you don't consider him a T20 player? pic.twitter.com/MwRQzVnFeK
