Pakistan selector Wahab Riaz on Tuesday revealed that selectors are currently deliberating on the vice-captaincy position for the Pakistan Cricket Team in white-ball cricket, with an announcement to be made at a later stage.

Furthermore, Riaz emphasized the implementation of a rotation policy during the upcoming New Zealand series to effectively manage player workloads, indicating the possibility of the captain being rested for a match.

According to sources, Mohammad Rizwan, who led Multan Sultans to PSL 9 final, is the leading contender for the vice-captaincy role.

Some officials within the board also view Shadab Khan as a viable candidate for vice-captaincy, citing him leading Islamabad United to their third PSL title and his stint as Pakistan's T20I captain in Babar Azam's absence last year. A decision on this matter is expected post-Eid.

However, the return of Imad Wasim and Mohammad Amir might pose challenges for Babar Azam's leadership, as their relationships with the captain are reportedly strained.

Wahab also suggested 'all is well' within the team, but there are rumblings of discontent within the squad, particularly noting that Shaheen Afridi is reportedly unhappy with the PCB.

Some selectors believe that Amir's inclusion could compensate for Shaheen's absence if the lanky pacer is left out for few matches during the series for rest purposes.
