Mohammad Rizwan overtakes Suryakumar Yadav as highest scorer in 2022

Mohammad Rizwan, Pakistan's top wicketkeeper-batter, claimed another record today by becoming the highest T20I run-scorer in 2022.

The 30-year-old surpassed India's Suryakumar Yadav after his cameo against New Zealand in the final of the tri-nation series at Hagley Oval stadium in Christchurch.

The 32-year-old Indian batter has scored 801 runs in 23 innings, which Rizwan overtook after scoring 821 runs in 18 innings with an average of 54.73 during the year 2022.

The Pakistan batter scored the most T20I runs in the preceding year. In 26 innings, he scored 1,326 runs and was named the ICC Men's T20I Cricketer of the Year.
