Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has shared encouraging news about the future of cricket in Pakistan, especially regarding the upcoming Champions Trophy and the potential revival of India-Pakistan matches.

Speaking to the media on Thursday, Naqvi confirmed that Pakistan will host all the matches for the Champions Trophy and hinted at positive developments concerning India's participation in the event.

Naqvi acknowledged the challenges of preparing three stadiums for the Champions Trophy but emphasized that the PCB is committed to maximizing revenue through ticket sales. He highlighted that the practice of distributing free tickets will be discontinued, noting that PCB officials received only four tickets during the ICC World Cup, underscoring the importance of paid attendance for revenue generation.

The PCB Chairman also suggested that there are promising opportunities for an India-Pakistan series, not limited to playing in Australia, hinting at potential good news for cricket fans eager to see the historic rivalry revived.

Regarding player contracts, Naqvi stressed the importance of fitness. He stated that only players who pass the fitness test, including the Yo-Yo test, will be awarded central contracts. "There will be no compromise on fitness," Naqvi said, adding that players who do not participate in domestic cricket will not be able to rejoin the national team.
