Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Mohsin Naqvi made an early morning visit to Gaddafi Stadium today to review the ongoing construction work as part of the upgrade project for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025. His inspection precedes his departure for Dubai to attend crucial ICC meetings that began on October 19.

During the visit, Naqvi emphasized the need for rapid progress on the renovation, urging the project team to conduct work around the clock where feasible. "The construction of floors and the steel fixing structure is progressing rapidly," he noted, highlighting the completion of the stadium's basement and ongoing work on the enclosures.

As he assessed the progress, Naqvi received briefings from the project team and reiterated the importance of maintaining high-quality standards throughout the construction process.

"All resources must be utilized to ensure that the Gaddafi Stadium upgrading project is completed ahead of the Champions Trophy," he stated. "No effort should be spared to meet the deadlines for this significant project."

After concluding his inspection, Naqvi departed Lahore to participate in the final board meeting of the ICC, where he will represent Pakistan alongside Chief Operating Officer Salman Naseer. The meeting is particularly critical as it pertains to Pakistan's role as the host nation for the upcoming ICC event.

Naqvi is expected to provide updates on the renovation efforts at Gaddafi Stadium, the National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi, and Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

The 2025 ICC Champions Trophy is scheduled from February 19 to March 9, with a reserve day on March 10. Pakistan will compete in Group A against India, Bangladesh, and New Zealand, while Group B includes England, South Africa, Australia, and Afghanistan.

The matches will be held across three key cities: Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi. Lahore will host seven matches, culminating in the grand final on March 9. Karachi will kick off the tournament with the opening match and one semi-final, while Rawalpindi will feature five matches, including the second semi-final.
