Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi held a high-level meeting at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium to review the country’s upcoming international and domestic cricket assignments.

The meeting centered on preparations for the Shaheens’ upcoming fixtures, including the national team's home series against South Africa and Sri Lanka, as well as away tours to the West Indies and Bangladesh. Officials also initiated discussions on central contracts for national players.

In a major move to boost Pakistan’s domestic cricket structure, the board decided to make it mandatory for all national players to participate in at least one domestic tournament each season.

Naqvi highlighted the importance of this step, saying, “Playing alongside international cricketers will help in grooming domestic players. A strong domestic cricket structure is essential to bring forward top-quality cricketers. Good backups for international players will emerge from domestic competitions.”

Director of International Cricket Usman Wahla gave a comprehensive briefing on upcoming series and logistical preparations. The meeting was also attended by key figures including Head Coach Mike Hesson, COO Sameer Ahmed, Team Manager Naveed Akram Cheema, Director of High Performance Aaqib Javed, and national white-ball captain Salman Ali Agha.

The meeting came shortly after Pakistan’s dominant 3-0 clean sweep over Bangladesh in the T20I series, where Mohammad Haris stole the show in the final game with a match-winning century.
