Former India captain MS Dhoni is ready to cheer for Team India in the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The tournament, starting on February 19, will be co-hosted by Pakistan and the UAE. Dhoni recently appeared in a fun promo for the event, showcasing his well-known calm attitude.

In the video, Dhoni joked that it was easier to stay cool as a captain than as a fan. He highlighted the intense competition in the Champions Trophy, where even one loss could knock a team out of the tournament. To handle the pressure, he humorously introduced the ‘Dhoni Refrigeration System’ to keep himself cool.

“When I was the captain, it was easy to remain cool, but it won’t be easy to watch Champions Trophy as a fan. Our team might be strong, but if we lose one game, then we’re almost out of the tournament. The temperature has risen so much due to constant tension,” Dhoni said.

Dhoni led India in two editions of the Champions Trophy, in 2009 and 2013. Under his leadership, India won the 2013 title in England, remaining unbeaten throughout the tournament. That year, he made a bold decision to field a young team, leaving out experienced players like Virender Sehwag, Zaheer Khan, and Gautam Gambhir. The gamble paid off, as India won all five matches and lifted the trophy.

In the next edition in 2017, India reached the final but lost to Pakistan by 180 runs. With Pakistan now co-hosting the 2025 tournament, India will be eager to settle the score.

India will begin their campaign against Bangladesh on February 20 in Dubai. The highly anticipated clash against Pakistan is set for February 23, making it one of the most awaited matches of the tournament.
