Multan Cricket Stadium has emerged as a strong candidate to host one Test between Pakistan and England.

The English side will travel to Pakistan to play seven T20Is in September. Due to time constraints and logistical problems, the matches will take place at two venues only, Karachi and Lahore.

However, after the T20 World Cup, the English side will return to Pakistan in November for three Tests and Multan has been seriously considered as a venue to host one Test.

Meanwhile, a four-member security delegation of the English Cricket Board (ECB)is arriving in Pakistan on Sunday.

They will visit Multan along with Lahore, Karachi and Rawalpindi and get briefings from local and PCB officials on possible arrangements.

They will also be provided information on routes, venues and hotels. Final decisions will be made in light of the report of the security delegation.
