Multan Sultans, who became the first team to qualify for the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL), were dealt a Covid-19 scare ahead of their game against Islamabad United on Sunday.

According to sources, Sultans' security consultant was tested positive for Covid-19 after which the entire team underwent testing.

The rapid testing revealed that, thankfully, no Multan Sultans tested positive. This means that Multan Sultans' tie against Islamabad United today will go ahead as scheduled.

It was further revealed by the sources that the security consultant has been quarantined.

Today's fixture is crucial for Islamabad United as they have to register a victory to ensure their qualification for the playoffs.

However, a loss would open doors for Quetta Gladiators if they can not only register a victory in today's other fixture but also significantly better their net run rate.
