The James Faulkner controversy remains fresh in our memories as the Australian cricketer created immense drama and was later banned from participating in the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Faulkner complained about not receiving the payment - which was later confirmed by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) as "baseless allegations."
Speaking about the incident, Pakistan's legendary bowler Mushtaq Ahmad said that this was "an unfortunate turn of events."
"Delivering payments on time is one of the best things about PSL and this is one of the reasons why we have been able to capture foreign talent with ease," said Mushtaq.
The Multan Sultans assistant coach stated that this controversy reflects poorly on Australia as well.
"Being a professional cricketer, James Faulkner should not have done this because this also reflects poorly on Australia because he was a representative of theirs, even if it is franchise cricket," he added.
Mushtaq said that PSL's bowling standard is the reason why every cricketer wants to come to Pakistan and play in the marquee tournament.
"Cricketers from all over the world want to come and play in the PSL because of our quality bowling. The other day I was talking to Tim David and he told me the reason he left Big Bash was to come to PSL and improve his cricket by facing good bowlers," he stated.
He further claimed that in comparison to other franchise competitions, the standards of PSL are much better.
