Mustafizur Rahman, Bangladesh's key fast bowler, is likely to miss the upcoming series against the West Indies, as he has requested leave for personal reasons. The multi-format series between Bangladesh and the West Indies is set to begin on November 22, with two Test matches followed by three ODIs and three T20Is.

The 29-year-old pacer, known for his skills in limited-overs formats, has been granted leave by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). Reports suggest that Mustafizur’s wife is expecting their child, which is why he has asked for time off from the tour.

An official from the BCB confirmed the request, stating, "It's true that he (Mustafizur) asked for leave during the white-ball series against West Indies, but we are yet to take a decision as there is still time in our hands. Let him come, and we can talk over the matter and see whether he can be available for one format (ODIs, T20Is) or not. At the same time, we have to consider this is a family issue, and it is top priority for everyone."

Mustafizur is currently playing in a three-match ODI series against Afghanistan in the UAE, which is tied 1-1. He is expected to finish the final match on November 11 and return to Bangladesh on November 13.

The Bangladesh team will start the white-ball portion of their West Indies tour with the first ODI on December 8 at Warner Park in St Kitts. However, it remains uncertain whether Mustafizur will be available for these matches, depending on his family situation.
