South Africa clinched a narrow victory against Bangladesh in their third match of the T20 World Cup 2024 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York on Monday.
Bangladesh faced a rough start, losing key wickets early on as South Africa's pacers dominated the proceedings. Tanzid Hasan, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Liton Das, and Shakib Al Hasan were all dismissed swiftly, leaving Bangladesh reeling at 50-4 in 9.5 overs.
However, a resilient partnership between experienced all-rounder Mahmudullah and Towhid Hridoy provided some stability to the Bangladesh innings. Hridoy's impressive knock of 37 off 34 balls offered hope, but he was eventually dismissed by Kagiso Rabada.
Despite Mahmudullah's valiant effort to steer the innings, Bangladesh fell short of the target, finishing at 109-7.

However, a crucial partnership between David Miller and Heinrich Klaasen steadied the South African innings. Klaasen's contribution of 46 runs, along with Miller's 29, propelled South Africa to a competitive total of 113-6.
Bangladesh's bowlers, led by Hasan and Taskin Ahmed, put up a commendable effort, with Hasan taking three wickets and Taskin claiming two.
