Former England captain Nasser Hussain praised Mohammad Amir for his impressive performance with the Oval Invincibles in the opening match of The Hundred 2024.

Amir took two wickets in just 15 balls and bowled nine dot balls against the Birmingham Phoenix.

“He likes bowling here. 2017 Champions Trophy final. Shikhar Dawan, India gone. Rohit Sharma, India gone. Virat Kohli gone. 3 for 16 he got in that Champions Trophy final, bowling this end,” reminisced Nasser Hussain, recalling Amir’s memorable spell at The Oval during the 2017 Champions Trophy.

Amir signed as a short-term replacement last week after he was granted the No Objection Certificate by the Pakistan Cricket Board to play in The Hundred 2024.
