The opening ceremony of the newly-renovated National Bank Stadium will take place on February 11, with famous singers Shafqat Amanat Ali, Ali Zafar, and Sahir Ali Bagga set to perform.
Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Mohsin Naqvi announced the details on Sunday, promising a grand celebration ahead of the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025, which Pakistan will host from February 19 to March 9.
Cricket fans attending the event can look forward to live music performances, a fireworks display, and a special light show.
“Get ready for another unforgettable night,” Naqvi wrote on X. “The grand inauguration of Karachi Stadium is happening on 11th February with spectacular musical performances by Ali Zafar, Shafqat Amanat, and Sahir Ali Bagga. Plus, a breathtaking fireworks and light show to light up the sky.”
Karachi’s National Bank Stadium will host three matches during the Champions Trophy 2025, including the tournament opener between Pakistan and New Zealand on February 19.
The Champions Trophy will feature eight teams playing 15 matches across Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Dubai. Group A includes Pakistan, India, New Zealand, and Bangladesh, while Group B consists of Afghanistan, South Africa, England, and Australia.
