The much-anticipated showdown between India and Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2024, which is set to be co-hosted by the USA and the West Indies, is on track to be held at a brand-new stadium in New York. The International Cricket Council (ICC) is gearing up to unveil one of the venues for this eagerly awaited tournament, and it appears that a 34,000-seat portable stadium will be erected approximately 30 miles east of New York City.

This venue is slated to be constructed in East Meadow, a small community located on Long Island, about 30 miles to the east of Manhattan, within the sprawling 930-acre Eisenhower Park.

The forthcoming announcement has been a topic of intense speculation, with negotiations between the ICC and New York City officials reportedly reaching an advanced stage, according to reports from Cricbuzz.

The ICC has long grappled with the issue of cricket infrastructure in the United States, or rather, the lack thereof. While Major League Cricket (MLC) did unveil a flagship stadium with a capacity of 15,000 seats in Dallas for its inaugural season, the country is notably short on permanent, state-of-the-art cricket facilities, aside from the aforementioned venue and Central Broward Park near Miami.

The agreement to utilize Eisenhower Park is expected to go a long way in addressing the ICC's venue concerns in the United States. The ICC had initially allocated approximately 20 games to be held in the USA, and it now seems likely that these matches will be split among the three aforementioned facilities.

The ICC had previously announced that the 20-team World Cup is scheduled to kick off on June 4 and conclude on June 30, promising an exciting and action-packed tournament for cricket enthusiasts worldwide.
