Chairman of the PCB management committee, Najam Sethi, revealed that the next president of the Asian Cricket Council will be from Pakistan.

“ACC is incomplete without Pakistan, and we don't want to leave it,” Sethi said.

In an interview with foreign media, he said that staying in the Asian Cricket Council depends on the ACC, whether it wants Pakistan or not.

“I hope we will continue to be part of the ACC. The majority of ACC's revenue comes from India and Pakistan. If Pakistan boycotts the Asia Cup, it will create major problems for broadcasters,” he said.

Sethi reinstated that an estimated $45 million will be earned from the Asia Cup, so he [Sethi] presented the proposal of a hybrid model in Bahrain at the meeting.

“There is no security issue in Pakistan. The New Zealand team toured at a time when protests were going on in the country. Security at the presidential level is provided to teams coming to Pakistan,” he said.

Chairman PCB further stated that if there is a security issue in Pakistan, then he would be the first person to say that the Asia Cup should be moved to a neutral venue.

Sethi concluded by saying that the hybrid model is not only a solution related to the Asia Cup but also to the 2023 World Cup and 2025 Champions Trophy.
