The first round of the T20 World Cup began on October 16, with teams competing to advance to the Super 12 stage. Sri Lanka, Netherlands, Zimbabwe, and Ireland have advanced to the Super 12 stage, and the main event began on Saturday at Sydney Cricket Ground, with hosts Australia taking on New Zealand.

Former cricketers have begun predicting which four teams will advance to the semi-finals, and Robin Uthappa's prediction will likely disappoint Indian fans.

Speaking on ESPNCricinfo, Uthappa selected England, Australia, Pakistan, and South Africa as his four semifinalists.

"I want to start with a disclaimer. I do not think Indian fans would be too happy. But my semi-finalists would be Australia, England, Pakistan, and South Africa," said Uthappa.

India was selected as one of the semifinalists by Anil Kumble, Tom Moody, Faf du Plessis, Sam Billings, and Darren Ganga.

Team India will open its T20 World Cup campaign against Pakistan at Melbourne Cricket Ground on October 23.

Before this, the Rohit Sharma-led squad defeated the defending champions, Australia by six runs in a warm-up match.

Their upcoming exhibition match against New Zealand was postponed due to rain. The team played two practice matches against Western Australia XI two weeks after arriving in Australia.
