Former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram is regarded as one of the game's greatest pacers. He was known for swinging the ball left, right, and center, and when the ball began to reverse, the left-arm seamer became an entirely different issue.

However, during his career, Akram was accused of match-fixing, and he has frequently stated that some people in Pakistan still believe he is a match-fixer.

In his latest autobiography, Akram told Wide World of Sports about his motive that the social media youth in Pakistan still refers to him as a match-fixer. He also mentioned how much people in India, Australia, England, and the West Indies love him.

"In Australia, England, West Indies, and India, when they talk about the World XI, when they talk about the best bowler in the world, my name pops up, but in Pakistan, this generation, this social media generation, they are the one who come down, every comment they send, they say, 'oh, he is a match-fixer,' not knowing what it was," said Akram.

"I have passed that stage in my life where I have to worry about people," he stated further.

There were rumors that Akram attempted to fix a match between Pakistan and New Zealand in Christchurch in 1996, as well as his late withdrawal from India's World Cup quarter-final, which resulted in a defeat for the Men in Green.

Wasim Akram played 104 Tests for Pakistan, taking 414 wickets, the most ever for a Pakistani bowler. He also took 502 wickets in 356 One-Day Internationals.
