Hafeez’s remarks come amidst discussions about the increasing role of PR agencies in Pakistani cricket over the past few years
Pakistan’s former captain Mohammad Hafeez took a subtle dig at PR agencies following Pakistan’s massive 152-run victory over England in the Multan Test on Friday.
Hafeez praised the match-winning performances of players like Kamran Ghulam, Salman Ali Agha, Sajid Khan, and Nauman Ali, and emphasized that these impactful performances are what Pakistan cricket needs, not the influence of PR agencies.
Taking to social media platform X, Hafeez wrote, "Pakistan cricket needs impactful performances like Kamran Ghulam, Salman Agha 50, Sajid Khan 9 wickets & Noman Ali 11 wickets for winning cause. Surely not PR agencies."
Hafeez’s remarks come amidst discussions about the increasing role of PR agencies in Pakistani cricket over the past few years, a trend that has been noted during the leadership of previous PCB heads, Zaka Ashraf and Najam Sethi. Former PCB chief Ashraf had even attempted to crack down on PR agencies that were allegedly blackmailing the board through players, but his tenure was cut short before major changes could be made.
