Pakistan's off-spinner Sajid Khan has expressed his elation after being named Player of the Series in his team's 2-1 series triumph over England, culminating in a dominant nine-wicket victory in the third Test at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The team comfortably chased down a modest target of 36 runs in just 3.1 overs, securing a historic series win.

Khan played a pivotal role in the series, finishing as the second-highest wicket-taker with 19 wickets from four innings, boasting an impressive average of 21.10 and an economy rate of 4.42. Additionally, he contributed with the bat, scoring 72 runs across three innings, with a top score of an unbeaten 48.

In the post-match presentation, Khan expressed his gratitude for the award and the team's success. He acknowledged the contributions of his spin partner, Noman Ali, who finished as the highest wicket-taker of the series with 20 wickets at an average of 13.85 and an economy of 3.04. Khan suggested that Noman also deserved the Player of the Series accolade, highlighting the strong partnership they formed during the series.

“Thankful to God for the series win. There was no pressure as such, I was making a comeback, but there were people who backed me, and I had played first-class cricket. Off the field, I'm not like this; I'm funny. Kamran Ghulam is my best friend, but you need to behave like this to lift the team's morale. You didn't need to do anything in Multan (in the second Test); the pitch did everything. Here, you needed to vary your lengths and paces, and we just did that. Noman bhai is one of the most experienced spinners in our country; he has been a great mate and has served well. He deserved this Player of the Series award with me. Congrats to the nation for this win,” Khan stated.

The series marked a significant turnaround for Pakistan, who had suffered a disappointing loss by an innings and 47 runs in the first Test. The return of Khan and Noman to the squad proved instrumental in ending Pakistan's 11-Test winless streak at home, as they celebrated their first series win on home soil since 2021 and their first series victory against England since 2015.
