The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is likely to take swift action following an incident involving former PCB Chairman and ex-cricketer Ramiz Raja, who posed an inappropriate question to Pakistan’s red-ball captain Shan Masood after the national team’s historic Test series win against England in Rawalpindi.

In a post-match interview on Saturday, October 26, Raja asked Masood a sarcastic question regarding his past record as captain, referencing Pakistan’s six consecutive Test defeats under his leadership. Raja’s comment, “How did you achieve six losses in a row?” appeared to unsettle Masood, who maintained composure and replied, “Ramiz bhai, we needed this win, the nation needed this win, and I’m really happy that Pakistan won.”

The PCB will reportedly take notice of the incident, with sources suggesting that Raja’s name might be omitted from the commentary panel for Pakistan’s upcoming white-ball series against Australia in November.

It is worth noting that the Test series finale in Karachi saw Pakistan’s spinners Noman Ali and Sajid Khan dominate England, dismantling their batting lineup in three days and securing a nine-wicket victory. Noman, 38, and Sajid, 31, were instrumental, taking 19 of England’s 20 wickets on a turning pitch, which had earlier helped Pakistan level the series. England was bowled out for a mere 112 runs in their second innings, their lowest Test score in Pakistan since 1987.

Pakistan’s chase of 37 runs was led by Masood, who sealed the victory with a bold six, delivering Pakistan a long-awaited home series win and marking a momentous comeback after his recent leadership struggles.
