Ashwin took to social media platform X to express his views, stating, "A draw on the cards at Multan?? #PAKvsENG," sparking discussion among cricket fans.

As the match progressed, Pakistan capitalized on the pitch's batting-friendly nature, posting a formidable total of 556 runs. Salman Ali Agha played a key role, remaining unbeaten on 104. Shan Masood's impressive 151 and Abdullah Shafique's century (102) gave Pakistan a strong foundation, while Babar Azam contributed 30 runs to the total.

England’s bowlers found some breakthroughs, with Gus Atkinson taking two wickets, while Jack Leach, Chris Woakes, and Joe Root claimed one each. After Tea, Pakistan suffered a minor collapse, losing two quick wickets, with Abrar Ahmed falling to Root for 3, and Shaheen Afridi being dismissed by Leach after scoring 26.
