The first ODI will begin at 5:00 PM Pakistan Standard Time today
The first match of the three-match One Day International (ODI) series between Pakistan and South Africa will be played today in Paarl.
Pakistan's team is fully prepared to take revenge for their loss in the T20 series. It is important to note that South Africa won the three-match T20 series 2-0, with the final match being washed out due to rain.
Pakistan's cricket team captain, Mohammad Rizwan, stated that the team will approach the ODI series with the Champions Trophy preparations in mind. "South Africa has momentum on their side, but Pakistan has also won two series in a row, so we are expecting a tough contest," Rizwan said.
He further added, "The T20 results did not meet our expectations, but we leave past failures behind and learn from them. We are confident that we will have a strong showing in the ODI series."
It is noteworthy that South Africa's captain, Temba Bavuma, will miss the first ODI due to workload management. In his absence, Aiden Markram will lead the team in the opening match.
As for the historical record between the two teams, they have played 83 ODI matches to date. South Africa has won 52 of these encounters, while Pakistan has won 30, with one match ending in no result. The first ODI will begin at 5:00 PM Pakistan Standard Time today.
