Pakistan’s all-rounder Salman Ali Agha believes his team can bounce back and defeat South Africa in the second Test, starting on January 3 at Newlands.

Speaking to the media during a practice session, Salman reflected on the first Test, where South Africa narrowly won by two wickets. He admitted that Pakistan missed some chances but remained positive about their performance in the next match.

“We fought hard in Centurion and are confident of winning the second Test. Our morale is high, especially after beating South Africa in the ODI series,” Salman said.

He acknowledged the competitive nature of the first Test and expects the second match to be equally exciting. “In cricket, momentum can shift quickly. We’ll focus on avoiding mistakes and performing better this time,” he added.

Salman also commented on the Newlands pitch, saying it appears to favour spinners more than the Centurion surface. “There’s less grass on this pitch, and stats show spinners play an important role here. I think I’ll be bowling in this match,” he shared.

The all-rounder confirmed that Pakistan’s playing XI for the second Test hasn’t been finalized yet but will likely be decided soon. He also assured that all players are fit and available for selection.

South Africa’s victory in the first Test secured their spot in the World Test Championship (WTC) final, but Pakistan remains determined to level the series.
