Zimbabwe Cricket has unveiled their squads for the upcoming ODI and T20I series against Pakistan, set to take place at Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo. The series comprises three ODIs on November 24, 26, and 28, followed by three T20Is on December 1, 3, and 5, 2024.

Craig Ervine will lead the ODI squad, which features a mix of seasoned players, including Sikandar Raza, Sean Williams, Blessing Muzarabani, and Richard Ngarava. In a bid to infuse fresh energy, the squad also includes three uncapped players: Trevor Gwandu, Tashinga Musekiwa, and Tinotenda Maposa.

David Mutendera, Zimbabwe’s Convener of Selectors, highlighted the balance in the squad, stating: “The series against Pakistan is an important platform for Zimbabwe. The presence of seasoned players like Craig, Sikandar, and Sean provides stability, while young players bring energy and potential for game-changing moments.”

Zimbabwe’s T20I squad remains unchanged from the one that clinched success at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 sub-regional qualifier in Kenya. Sikandar Raza will captain the side, which will rely on its established chemistry to challenge Pakistan.

Veterans like Ervine, Williams, and Joylord Gumbie have been omitted to ensure continuity with the squad that excelled in Kenya.

“Maintaining the same T20I squad allows the team to build on the cohesion and confidence from their recent success,” Mutendera said.

Zimbabwe views this series as an opportunity to test their mettle against a top-tier side. Mutendera expressed optimism about the team's prospects, emphasizing their readiness to compete and showcase Zimbabwe’s potential on the international stage.
