The squad also sees the return of young talent Shawaal Zulfiqar, who missed out on cricket due to a shoulder injury
Pakistan has announced its 15-player squad for the upcoming ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 Qualifiers, set to take place in Pakistan from April 9-19. The team, led by Fatima Sana, will aim to secure one of the two remaining spots in the 13th edition of the ICC Women’s 50-over World Cup, scheduled for later this year in India.
Pakistan is one of the six teams competing in the qualifier tournament, which will be played in a round-robin format. The six participating teams include the hosts Pakistan, along with West Indies, Thailand, Scotland, Ireland, and Bangladesh. Each team will face every other team once, and the top two teams at the end of the group stage will qualify for the prestigious Women's Cricket World Cup in India.
Fatima Sana, the pace all-rounder who captained Pakistan during last year’s ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, will continue to lead the team in the qualifiers. One notable absence from the squad is all-rounder Nida Dar, who was among the 19 players called for the training camp but has been excluded from the final squad.
The squad also sees the return of young talent Shawaal Zulfiqar, who missed out on cricket due to a shoulder injury but is now making her comeback to the national side after a break since 2023.
