Pakistan announces 16-member squad for T20 Blind Cricket World Cup

The Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC) has announced a 16-member national squad for the fourth T20 Blind Cricket World Cup, set to begin on November 23 in Pakistan. The selection committee members—Masood Jan, Muhammad Jamil, and Tahir Mehmood Butt—finalized the team with approval from PBCC Chairman Syed Sultan Shah.

Nisar Ali will captain the team, with Badar Munir serving as vice-captain. The squad includes players from three categories based on visual ability:  

- B1 Category: Zafar Iqbal, Muhammad Idrees Saleem, Muhammad Shahzaib, Fakhar Abbas, Muhammad Asif, and Muhammad Salman.
- B2 Category: Babar Ali, Naimatullah, and Haroon Khan.
- B3 Category: Muhammad Safdar, Kamran Akhtar, Akmal Hayat Nasir, Talha Iqbal, and Mutiullah.

The reserve players for the tournament are Muhammad Ayaz, Moin Aslam, and Muhammad Rashid. Team officials include head coach Muhammad Jamil, assistant coach Masood Jan, team manager Malik Abrar Hussain, assistant manager Naveed Hussain Abbasi, and trainer Tahir Mehmood Butt.

Pakistan will face South Africa in its opening match on November 23 in Lahore. 

According to PBCC Chairman Syed Sultan Shah, the squad features a mix of seasoned players and promising newcomers who demonstrated exceptional skills in recent domestic tournaments. Shah expressed confidence in the team's potential, stating, “We hope the Pakistani team will meet the nation’s expectations in the World Cup.”
