The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Cricket Australia (CA) are currently in talks to organise series between their A teams, Under-19 squads, and women’s sides, sources revealed on Wednesday.

According to insiders, the recent improvement in relations between the two boards has opened doors for greater cricketing collaboration. Discussions around future series for junior and women’s teams are reportedly progressing well.

The PCB’s High-Performance Centre has identified Australia as a key partner for bilateral development programs, with the aim of improving player pathways and exposure through regular international tours.

Sources further stated that the growing trust between the two boards has already had a positive impact. One of the key outcomes is the increased participation of Pakistani players in the Big Bash League (BBL) season 15. This time around, players received their No Objection Certificates (NOCs) ahead of the draft — a shift from previous years when delays often created uncertainty.

Beyond arranging team tours, the PCB is also keen on launching academy exchange programs with CA to help develop young talent and provide players with international experience.

PCB Director of High Performance, Aaqib Javed, is actively working on expanding opportunities for player exposure not only in Australia and England, but also in other cricket-playing countries. According to sources, he believes that strong international ties are essential to send more Pakistani players abroad to grow and learn.

As mutual cooperation strengthens, more Australian players are also expected to take part in future editions of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), further boosting bilateral ties.

Adding to the positive momentum, Cricket Australia’s CEO recently confirmed that Australia will tour Pakistan next year, which will further reinforce the growing cricketing relationship between the two nations.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s national team will return to action after a short break with a T20I series in Bangladesh at the end of July. The official schedule for the Bangladesh tour has yet to be announced. After that, Pakistan will travel to the United States for a T20I series against West Indies, starting on July 31. The tour will feature three T20Is in the US, followed by three ODIs which will be played in the Caribbean.
