The president of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), Faruque Ahmed, confirmed on Wednesday that they are exploring the possibility of organizing a white-ball series with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), in addition to the scheduled Future Tour Programme (FTP).

Ahmed, who was invited by PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi, attended the ongoing second semi-final of the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 between New Zealand and South Africa at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. During his visit, Ahmed and Naqvi discussed the potential of hosting a series consisting of three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is).

“I would like to thank PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi for inviting me,” said Ahmed in a media statement.

“There has been a discussion between the two boards to hold a white-ball series outside the FTP. We are currently in talks to finalize the schedule for the series,” he added.

PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi expressed his gratitude towards Ahmed and the BCB for their support in organizing the Champions Trophy 2025. He also confirmed that the two cricket boards have been in talks about this series for several weeks.

“I would like to welcome Faruque Ahmed to Pakistan on the occasion of the semi-final in Lahore,” said Naqvi.

“I thank him and the BCB for their assistance in hosting the Champions Trophy. The two boards have been discussing this series for the past few weeks, and we expect to make progress soon,” he added.

As part of the Future Tour Programme (FTP), Bangladesh is already scheduled to tour Pakistan in late May for a series of three ODIs and three T20Is.
