Sreesanth drew a rather harsh comparison, stating that Pakistan's performance in crucial matches is reminiscent of South Africa's infamous tendency to falter in finals
Former Indian cricketer S Sreesanth didn't hold back in his assessment of Pakistan's performance in the Asia Cup 2023.
Pakistan were knocked out of the Asia Cup after losing the Super 4 clash against Sri Lanka on Thursday in Colombo.
Sreesanth drew a rather harsh comparison, stating that Pakistan's performance in crucial matches is reminiscent of South Africa's infamous tendency to falter in finals. He expressed doubt about the likelihood of an India-Pakistan final in the Asia Cup, emphasizing that Pakistan currently lacks the quality to reach the championship match.
"It won't happen (anytime soon). Pakistan are not good enough to reach the finals. They are like South Africa. They choke in finals," Sreesanth said to Sportskeeda.
Looking ahead to the final showdown in the Asia Cup 2023, Sreesanth anticipated an exciting clash between India and Sri Lanka.
"It is going to be an extremely good final. I expect captain Rohit Sharma to win the game for India in the final," he concluded.
