The Pakistan cricket team took part in a rigorous training session on Sunday, as they prepare for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025, set to begin on February 19.
The players trained at the Hanif Mohammad High-Performance Center's Oval Ground at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi. The three-hour practice session was optional, but the coaching staff ensured each player was working on their batting, bowling, and fitness skills.
The session kicked off with warm-up exercises before players moved on to specialized drills designed to improve their performance and match readiness. The coaching staff was closely watching to make sure every player stayed in top form.
Pakistan, the defending champions, will open the tournament with a match against New Zealand on Wednesday, February 19, at the National Bank Cricket Stadium in Karachi.
Recently, Pakistan had a strong run in ODI series, winning back-to-back series against Australia, Zimbabwe, and South Africa under captain Mohammad Rizwan. However, they faced a challenge in the tri-nation series final against New Zealand on February 14, where the Kiwis remained undefeated and won both of their matches against Pakistan under Mitchell Santner's captaincy.
After their opening match, Pakistan will head to Dubai for a high-stakes encounter with arch-rivals India on February 23. They will then face Bangladesh in Rawalpindi on February 27.
