The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), in consultation with the International Cricket Council (ICC), has finalized the budget for the highly anticipated ICC Champions Trophy 2025, scheduled to be held in February-March.
The budget preparation was spearheaded by ICC Chief Finance Officer Ankur Khanna and PCB Chief Finance Officer Javed Murtaza.
The budget will be a central focus at the ICC's annual meetings, which are set to commence on July 19 in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Representing Pakistan at these meetings will be PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and CEO Salman Naseer, who will depart for Colombo on July 18.
Sources indicate that the budget for the ICC Champions Trophy is slated for approval on July 22 during these meetings.
The budget, meticulously prepared in consultation with the ICC and PCB, is the sole item on the agenda for approval on July 22. No other financial formulas, including the hybrid model or discussions on supplementary or emergency budgets, are scheduled for that day.
Pakistan is set to host the ICC Champions Trophy from February 19 to March 9. In preparation, pitches and grounds are being developed according to the guidelines provided by ICC Curator Andy Atkinson.
An ICC delegation is expected to visit Pakistan in October to review the preparations. So far, three delegations have visited Pakistan to assess the arrangements for the tournament.
