The Pakistan cricket team has been fined for maintaining a slow over rate during the Cape Town Test against South Africa.

According to the International Cricket Council (ICC), Pakistan was penalized 25% of their match fee and docked five points from their World Test Championship (WTC) tally for being five overs behind the required rate.

Pakistan captain Shan Masood accepted the charge and acknowledged the team's mistake in failing to meet the over rate target.

The Cape Town Test ended in disappointment for Pakistan, as they suffered a crushing 10-wicket defeat at the hands of South Africa. The setback further impacted their position on the WTC points table.

Pakistan is currently placed eighth on the WTC standings with a PCT (percentage of points) of 24.31, narrowly ahead of West Indies, who sit at the bottom with 24.24 PCT.
