Saeed Ajmal heaped praise on the national team's skipper and stated that he wouldn't mind having more selfish players like Babar in the team
Babar Azam is thumping record after record in ODI cricket, and yesterday was one of those regular days for him when he not only took sustained his top position but alongside peaked his team to the number one rankings on the ICC charts.
Former Pakistani off-break bowler, Saeed Ajmal, heaped praise on the national team's skipper and stated that he wouldn't mind having more selfish players like Babar in the team if this kind of selfishness is bringing records home.
"Babar stroke the fastest 5000 runs, completed his 18th hundred, and maintained his top average of 59.85, surpassing Virat Kohli. Extremely well done. No amount of words is enough that are worthy of his praise. People often claim that he [Babar] is a selfish player. I'd gladly accept three to four more selfish players like him in the team," Ajmal said.
On Friday, Pakistan secured a 102-run win over New Zealand in National Bank Stadium Karachi, which helped them to lead the ongoing five-match ODI series by 4-0. As a result of this win, Pakistan has reached the top spot in the ODI team rankings for the first time since the ICC introduced the rankings in January 2005.
