The national team ended their campaign in the Physically Disabled (PD) Champions Trophy 2025 with a 10-run win over England but failed to secure a spot in the final. The match, held at the BOI Cricket Ground on Sunday, was their last group-stage fixture.

The team finished third in the standings with three wins from six matches. Despite their victory, England’s earlier triumph over India pushed them to second place with four wins. India topped the table with five victories.

The final, set to be played on Tuesday at the same venue, will feature India and England.

In Sunday’s rain-affected match, the team posted an impressive 72/1 in just five overs. Ghulam Muhammad played a brilliant knock of 28 runs off 12 balls, hitting two fours and three sixes. Saif Ullah Achakzai also contributed with an unbeaten 26 off 11 balls, smashing one four and two sixes. England’s Ben Sutton was the only bowler to take a wicket, finishing with 1/18.

Chasing a target of 73, England managed 62/3 in their five overs. Liam O’Brien led their effort with 29 off 13 balls, while Brendon Parr added 20 runs from 11 deliveries.

For the national side, skipper Abdullah Ijaz, Waqif Shah, and Muhammad Noman each claimed a wicket.

Ghulam Muhammad was named player of the match for his quickfire innings, marking a strong finish for the team despite missing out on the final.
