Pakistan retain seventh spot in ICC Test rankings

Five-wicket win against Ireland ensures Men in Green remain at their previous position

Pakistan retain seventh spot in ICC Test rankings

Pakistan Cricket Team have managed to cling on to the seventh place in the official International Cricket Council (ICC) rankings after their five-wicket win over Ireland in Dublin.

Pakistan was awarded a solitary point for their exploits in a closely fought five-day affair, which was Ireland’s first ever in history.

Meanwhile Ireland will have to wait a bit longer before opening their account on the rankings table.

The visitors, who were flirting with danger at one stage, were able to cross the line and avoided sacrificing major chunk of their ranking points, courtesy sublime batting performance from young Imamul Haq and Babar Azam.

Had Pakistan lost the one off Test match, they would have dropped five points while a draw would have resulted in two points deduction.

Complete rankings as per ICC:-

1- India

2- South Africa

3- Australia

4- New Zealand

5- England

6- Sri Lanka

7- Pakistan

8- Bangladesh
