The second 50-over match between Pakistan Shaheens and Bangladesh 'A' has been called off due to persistent rain and a wet outfield at Islamabad Club on Wednesday.

Shaheens take a commanding 1-0 lead in the three-match series, clinching the first 50-over match with an impressive eight-wicket victory.

In the first ODI, Pakistan Shaheens showcased their dominance, led by a stellar bowling performance from Abbas Afridi, who took five wickets for just 38 runs. Bangladesh A struggled to build momentum, eventually being bowled out for 183 runs in 36 overs. Afridi’s five-wicket haul surpassed his previous best in List A cricket, making it a standout performance in his career.

Shaheens captain Mohammad Haris won the toss and elected to field, a decision that paid off as Bangladesh A’s batting line-up crumbled under the disciplined bowling attack. Saif Hassan was the top scorer for Bangladesh A with a brisk 58 runs, while Rishad Hossain added 40 runs.

In response, Pakistan Shaheens comfortably chased down the target of 184 in just 27.5 overs, losing only two wickets. Usman Khan led the charge with an aggressive 87 off 60 balls, including eight fours and five sixes. He was well supported by Haseebullah, who remained unbeaten on 73, guiding Pakistan Shaheens to victory.

The third 50-over match is scheduled to be held at the same venue on August 30.
