Pakistan has been demoted to third, while India has been propelled to the second position in the ICC ODI Men's team rankings following Pakistan's loss to Sri Lanka in the virtual semi-final of the 2023 Asia Cup in Colombo on Thursday.

Australia, currently at the summit of the rankings with a formidable rating of 118, is facing a tough challenge from India, closely trailing with a rating of 116.

Pakistan, once leading the standings, now finds themselves in the third spot with a rating of 115.

Australia's recent upset against South Africa in the third ODI of their ongoing series has presented India with a golden opportunity to reclaim the number one position, a title they held until March 22nd earlier this year.

The latest ICC ODI Rankings as of September 14th, 2023, firmly position Australia in first place and India in second place, with the former having 3,061 points and the latter having 4516 points, respectively, while Pakistan, after their defeat, is left with 3,102 points on the charts.
