Former Pakistan captain Mohammad Hafeez has expressed his disappointment with the team's recent struggles at home, particularly their loss in the series opener against England.

In a social media post, Hafeez criticized the team's management for their decision to play four spinners on a pitch that had already been used for a previous Test match.

"Team Pakistan stil in search of winning formula at home. Playing test match on previously used pitch. Playing with 4 spinners team management fancy their hopes for square turner. Hoping this plan work in favour of Pakistan," Hafeez posted on X.

The former team director's comments come after Pakistan's top order collapsed early in the first innings of the Test match, losing Shan Masood and Abdullah Shafique within the first hour of play.

Saim Ayub and debutant Kamran Ghulam are currently attempting to rebuild the innings and give Pakistan a fighting chance.
