The Pakistan team will not have the services of a dedicated batting coach for the upcoming tour of West Indies as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has made the decision not to fill the role, previously occupied by legendary former batsman Younis Khan, in haste.

According to sources, the PCB has decided to hand over the responsibility of training the batsmen to head coach Misbahul Haq and assistant tour manager Shahid Aslam for the upcoming tour of West Indies.

Legendary former batsman Younis Khan had previously announced his decision to leave the post of batting coach two days before the national team’s departure to England.

There were rumours that National High Performance Center’s batting coach Mohammad Yousaf might be sent for the tour of West Indies but that is unlikely to happen primarily due to logistical reasons.

Mohammad Yousaf is currently working with cricketers in a training camp in Karachi.

Pakistan is scheduled to play five Twenty20 Internationals (T20I) and two Tests against West Indies in July and August.
